Join us for CoThinkk’s 2017 Annual Event “Becoming We: Strengthening Through our Roots”. The 2017 Awards Event will allow us to highlight the innovative work of leaders working across the region through announcing our 2nd year grant recipients and an awards ceremony that will honor community leaders and allies. The event will feature the talents of local artists and bring the voice of the young people who are working across the Southern region. Come join a diverse array of community leaders and colleagues as we celebrate this important milestone and honor the important work that leaders of color are doing in Asheville and Western North Carolina.
We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the 4th Annual African Americans in WNC Conference, which provides a forum for scholars and community to discuss the African American experience in Appalachia and address vital issues facing Appalachian communities of color. In addition to African American history, this year’s conference will highlight research from UNC Asheville’s State of Black Asheville classes, as well as examples of current day community resilience.
Come join a diverse array of community leaders and colleagues as we celebrate this important milestone and honor the important work that leaders of color are doing in Asheville and Western North Carolina.
CoThinkk is a giving circle that brings together community leaders who care about the economic and social well-being of communities of color in Asheville and Western North Carolina.

We recommend parking in the Rankin Avenue Parking Garage on Rankin Avenue. Parking is also conveniently available on the street or in one of these nearby parking decks: Wall Street Garage, Civic Center Garage, and Biltmore Avenue Garage.
Word on the Street welcomes you to the online magazine where diverse, culture-driven youth use their minds and talents to create a place to find solutions to ethnic and community issues while sharing their artistic creations. Working alongside the community, Word On The Street hopes to have a year full of submissions, notoriety, and open dialogues with different communities. Come join us as we begin to make changes within the community.
Lyric has played street festivals such as the Goombay festival, Bele Chere festival, Fall for Greenville Festival, Sourwood Festival and the Black Mountain arts festival. LYRIC have also played with Grammy award winning Count M’Butu from Derrick Trucks band, and opened for Grammy wine “Lizz Wright.” Not long ago did the band finish their album entitled, “Guitar Feet.” this album takes you n a walk through the promise of a better day. Through all hardships and struggle, this album has been known to lift people’s spirits!! There are five members in the band that each play an intricate part.
DJ Malinalli specializes in Latin Music as well in bringing you the best of the eclectic Tropical Bass movement happening internationally.
The Ettison Group concept was founded by Chef Gene Ettison who is a rising Chef and Garagistes from the craft-beer capital of the world, Asheville, North Carolina. Chef Ettison is an Alumni of Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College’s Culinary Program. Chef Ettison’s goal is to expand the palate of all people, both young and old.
A firm believer in farm to table, nose to tail cooking, Chef Ettison uses the freshest produce and does everything that he can to support local growers and farmers. My main reason for creating The Ettison Group, on the food side was so people that are from humble beginnings could experience high quality food experiences.
So it was out of that mind frame and being born of humble beginnings himself, that Chef Ettison made it his goal to make fine dining and the experience of an amazing meal and its technical process accessible to ALL. “Life is short. Get your friends, a huge plate of food, a few bottles of Concrete Rose beer, and laugh!”
