On September 28, 2024, Hurricane Helene caused massive destruction and significant flooding in Western North Carolina that will long impact local residents and communities. The devastation of Hurricane Helene came just as CoThinkk, a social change philanthropy organization and giving circle, reached its 10-year anniversary and were taking a pause to reflect on our journey, take stock of the shifting landscape, and envision the future of CoThinkk. CoThinkk is committed to partnering with frontline leaders to heal and rebuild through three phases. Their three big asks to the community-at-large:
- Follow organizations that are on the ground working hard to ensure everyone is safe and can work toward rebuilding the community
- Continue to elevate stories that center the needs and resilience of communities in WNC remain front and center for the long recovery journey
- Support organizations on the ground with donations and time now and beyond the first 100 days
